L'Hort del Metge

L’Hort del metge is located in the village of Lladrós, which lies down in the valley of the river Noguera de Cardós. Together with a few more mountain villages, Lladrós is part of the municipality of La Vall de Cardós a northwest county in Catalonia, named El Pallars Sobirà.

The county has a renewed reputation for its landscapes and rural background, since there are still many people who live from farming and livestock breeding (cattle, sheep and horses). An important part of Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park is set in the region, as it is also the recently created Alt Pirineu Natural Park, in the same county of El Pallars Sobirà. Both Parks are widely known for their rich fauna, flora and geology.

Thanks to the location of l’Hort del metge, the visitor will reach the three ski resorts in the area: Espot Esquí, Port Ainé and Baqueira Beret, as well as the closest ski resort of Pleta del Prat, which is most clearly accessible, since it is set at the very end of La Vall de Cardós.

From all the white water rivers of the county of El Pallars Sobirà, the Noguera Pallaresa is the one that has become most of all famous for its river sports, especially with rafting and kayaking, and many other fun modern modalities to discover.
